Meet Donna

She's been doing hair since she was fourteen

Donna Stover started at Brownstown Vo-Tech, went on to teach at the Randy Rick Beauty Academy, and opened Shear Sensations in 1992. Three decades later, she's still the one in the chair.

A few years ago she made a deliberate choice: instead of growing into a bigger, busier shop, she remodeled into a smaller boutique. Fewer chairs, one stylist, and room to give every client her full attention — the kind of care that's hard to find once a salon scales up.

That's the whole idea behind Shear Sensations. You're not handed off between a colorist, a junior, and a blow-dry station. From the consultation to the final mirror check, it's just you and Donna.

How Donna works

Craft you can feel from the first conversation

  • Listen first

Every appointment opens with a real consultation — your hair history, your day-to-day routine, and what you honestly want to walk out with.

  • The right call

Sometimes that means talking you out of something. After this many years, Donna would rather give you advice you trust than a result you regret.

  • Made to last

Color that grows out gracefully, cuts shaped to how your hair actually behaves, and finishing so it looks just as good at home.
